The Davine A. Green Experience

"Seeking destiny, having a serious conviction can mean victory or defeat. For me– first to understand purpose-- then work steadily to achieve the objectives.”

It's not about standing still and becoming safe. Want to keep creating–never be afraid of change.

Miles Davis

I was in a music store back in 05 looking for a good upright bass, the store owner approached me and stated there were enough bass players, and I needed a new motivation. He suggested I play harmonica and pointed to a plastic set he had. I objected– feeling it wasn’t an instrument that could operate in jazz or lead positions--how wrong he professed. He offered the instruments at half price and even agreed to refund my money–which you wouldn’t do--if I brought them back. That was 2005.

“I wanted to first develop a style of harmonica playing, techniques, voicing, and correspondence--without having other musicians to perform with, I started using backing tracks of the type of group I seek to create: piano, bass, drums, and sax, but in this case--I use tracks that don't always include sax.”

“Tracks are already composed and arranged recordings, and it doesn't include you in their making, so to play them requires hearing and corresponding with them, giving the listener the “Experience” that you were already a part of the track.”

He eventually started working out tunes using unconventional methods–working more towards “CROSSOVER.” Crossover refers to bringing the harmonic effect into any form of music–where there is an entry point.  “It doesn’t matter if I’m playing in the lead, the side, the rear, I get in–and make it work!

“I created the Experience to eventually find the raw artists who can fill the positions necessary for this Experience. Until then, audiences will be captivated and enthralled with innovative ideas, unique harmonica phrasings, passion, and energy.”
